Pilates & BUTI

Pilates & BUTI

Two very different things sit together here because neither is a yoga class. Heat and Harmony Pilates runs weekly. The BUTI Workshop is an occasional session and it is ticketed on its own, so a membership or trial pass does not cover it.

Who it is for. Pilates is suitable for all levels. BUTI is high-energy and loud, so it suits people who want a workout more than a practice.

What the words actually mean

You do not need to know any of this to walk in. It is here so the schedule reads like a timetable instead of a foreign language.

BUTI

Buti combines yoga postures with primal movement, cardio bursts and deep core work, set to music. It is the loudest, sweatiest thing on the timetable.

Pilates weekly · BUTI as a workshop

The classes in Pilates & BUTI

Core strength and posture in the Pilates class, and music-driven movement when the BUTI workshop runs.

Heat & Harmony Pilates

1 a week · all levels

A full-body Pilates class where strength meets mindfulness. Controlled movements and intentional breathwork build core strength, improve posture and enhance flexibility. Suitable for all levels.

BUTI Workshop

Ticketed separately

A dynamic, music-driven practice combining yoga postures with primal movement, cardio bursts and deep core conditioning, using the Spiral Structure Technique. It also brings in tribal dance and plyometrics. High energy throughout.

Booked with its own workshop pass, not a membership or the trial.

Before you come

The heat, and what to bring

The room runs between 95 and 102 degrees and classes are 50 to 60 minutes. Doors open 20 minutes before, and the studio asks you to arrive 10 minutes early so your body can adjust to the heat. Classes start on time and the doors lock at the start, so there is no late admittance.

The room

Far infrared heat, between 95 and 102 degrees. It warms you rather than the air, so it feels radiant instead of stifling.

Arriving

Doors open 20 minutes before. Arrive 10 minutes early to adjust to the temperature. Classes start on time and the doors lock, so there is no late admittance.

Your mat

Bring your own if you have one. There are a limited number of free mats to borrow, with a small contribution asked for the studio's mental health charity jar.

If it is your first

Eat two to four hours before class, dress lightly, and drink plenty of fluids before, during and after.
