How should I best prepare for class?

If you choose to experience the benefits of Far Infrared Hot Yoga, here are a few suggestions to help you ease into the experience: Allow for enough time to let your body adapt to the heat. Arriving for class 10 minutes early will give you an opportunity to adjust to the temperature. Dress lightly and consider a headband to keep your hair off of your face. Ladies may want to consider a sports bra and shorts; men may want to plan to wear a t-shirt and shorts, or possibly just shorts. Dress for comfort and to minimize the heat which heavy clothing will trap to your body. Drink plenty of fluids before, during, and after your yoga session. You may want to consider enhancing your water with an electrolyte solution or a pinch of salt to keep your fluids balanced. Avoid an overly full or empty stomach. Eat two to four hours before class.

How hot is the studio and how long are the classes?

The heat in our studio depends on the type of class. Our hot yoga classes will be between 95 and 102 degrees and 50-60 minutes in duration. See Know your categories above for what each family of classes involves.

Is there studio etiquette I need to be aware of?

There are some basic guidelines we do like to keep in mind to ensure maximum enjoyment for all those who attend our studio: Most importantly please arrive for class on time and allow ample time to get prepared for the start of class. When moving through the studio workout space, please ensure shoes are removed. Upon entering our studio, please turn off or silence all electronic devices that ring, light up, or vibrate to avoid distractions Please aim to stay until the conclusion of class, which will be announced by the teacher. Leaving prematurely can distract those around you. Maintain good hygiene and be mindful of those around you during your workout.

Do I need to bring my own mat?

We recommend you bring your own mat but offer a limited number of free mats to use. We just ask for a small contribution into our Association for Mental Health and Wellness (MHAW) donation jar.

When should I arrive?

Doors will be open 20 minutes prior to class. Our classes will start on time and there is no late admittance. Doors will be locked at the start of class.
